Announcement of Potomac Study

On October 10, Washington Aqueduct presented a summary of the report on the study to evaluate the water quality effects of the sediment discharges from the water treatment plants on the Potomac River. We have had two previous meetings on this subject: one at the outset and one midway through the study work -- plus we had one on-site visit to the river during a discharge when a dye study was being conducted.

This report will be submitted to EPA Region 3. They will use it in their analysis that will result in a new discharge permit to replace the one currently in effect.
